Time for a Hard Reboot

October fourth is the beginning of a new life. I need a complete reboot. I’ve spent the past decade focusing on everything except the most important things including my health. If I am going to live a long and full life I need to completely change my personal habits, and focus on achieving my personal best in everything I do, every day for the rest of my life.

A decade and a half ago I was incredibly fit, weighing in at one hundred eighty-five pounds, with six to seven percent body fat. I could easily crush a five mile run in under thirty minutes and then swim two and a half miles in under an hour. Unfortunately I have paid for a gym membership over the past fifteen years but I honestly have rarely used it.

At the start of this transformation I am weighing in at an embarrassing two hundred nineteen pounds, with between twenty and twenty-two percent body fat. My one mile run time is a ridiculously slow eight minutes and I have not seen a swim lane in at least two years. All of that is going to change starting now.

My short term goal is to get back to my ideal weight of one hundred eighty-five pounds before my holiday vacation which starts on December twentieth, to do that I need to shed thirty-four pounds, which means that I will need to lose an average of three pounds per week over the next eleven weeks.

Three pounds a week is achievable with the right diet and a disciplined exercise regimen, operative word being disciplined. I plan to document every day of the next eleven weeks in order to hold myself accountable. Given the crazy work schedule that I have this is going to mean a lot of very early morning workouts over the next eleven weeks!

Stand by for a remarkable transformation. A new life starts right now. The only easy day was yesterday.
